Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian said that cultural centers play a key role in promoting national culture and knowledge, and possess good capacities that should be used for decision-making affairs.
The president made the remark in a meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution on Tuesday.
He said that prominent figures are currently working in cultural centers, but they have not contributed to major decision-making and law-making affairs due to the lack of a specific mechanism based on which they can play their role, Pezeshkian said.
This is while, he added, cultural centers play a great role in promoting culture and knowledge, and their capacity should be used properly to help in the decision-making affairs.
To help these centers play their part in decision-makings, relations between the government and cultural centers should be boosted, President Pezeshkian explained.
In addition, a mechanism should be created in order for promoting ties between cultural centers and the decision-making bodies especially the law-making sector, he added.
Further in his remarks, the president called for the establishment of a system to evaluate manpower with the aim of resolving the existing administrative and executive problems.
In such an evaluation system, appointments and dismissals should be carried out based on specialty and commitment, not personal issues, President Pezeshkian emphasized.
