The 831st session of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution was held in the presence of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani, Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, Judiciary Chief Ebrahim Raeisi and members of the council in presidential office.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the event, Secretary of Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution Saied Reza Ameli elaborated on the approvals of the session, saying it has put on the agenda reviewing social council report on social parameters and indices which were presented by Interior Minister Abdolreza Rahmani Fazli and Head of Social Affairs Organization Taghi Rostamvandi.
Referring to the fact that based on the approvals of the Iranian calendar year 1397 of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, the social council is responsible for monitoring social damages and other social parameters, Ameli said the reports indicate that social bodies in Iran have maintained close cooperation in the framework of a social network.
It is also concluded that controlling social damages by social organizations and NGOs with regard to social indices is active and dynamic, he added.
Ameli pointed to national comprehensive division of labor regrading social parameters, saying serious labor division and continuous inspections have been planned for big damages like divorce, addition, alcohol consumption, marginalized urban community, abusing children and harassment of women.
He went on to say that the center for monitoring social council, is monitoring registered, gathered and monitored data and presents specific reports in this regard.
Paying attention to social indices has positive and negative dimensions and also deals with social damages.
Ameli alluded to family stability growth from 7-9 years and reducing divorces rate over the last two years as positive dimensions.
Based on family consultation, 250,000 families who are about to divorce have canceled their case.
Commenting on ‘Saman’ comprehensive plan which deals with a group of social infrastructures and reducing social damages, he said Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education in the field of social health, State Welfare Organization of Iran in preventing social damages and the Interior Ministry as managing all provinces are active and have so far established close cooperation.
He noted that ‘Namad Plan’ which monitors social care system for students together with ‘Saman’ which includes measures organizes control and reduction of social damages.
With regard to removing deprivation, he said nine bodies like Execution of Imam Khomeini's Order, Imam Khomeini Relief Foundation, State Welfare Organization of Iran, IRGC headquarter, Housing Foundation of Islamic Revolution, NGOs, Mostazafan Foundation and the bodies affiliated with Interior Ministry like municipality, councilors and Social Affairs Organization of Iran have made efforts in this regard.
Elsewhere in his remarks, Ameli said 90% of the addicted people have low educational level and those with higher educational levels are exposed to less social damages.
Ameli also referred to suicide cases in some age groups and increase in consumption of alcohol especially in time of the outbreak of coronavirus.
Unfortunately, there is a misunderstanding with regard to using alcohol by some groups and that alcohol consumption will kill coronavirus which is rejected by scientific researches.
He expressed regret over the increase in number of addiction cases in Iran which is now two million.
One of the biggest networks for presenting healthcare services has been created in Iran over the last eight years and 8,000 medical centers with 1.5 million visitors have served addicted people and their families.
One out of three addicted people has access to medical services in Iran, this is while one out of six cases in the world has such as access.
Based on the report of the session, the capacity of providing shelter for addicted people in Tehran increased from 400 to 14,000 ones.
Ten big centers with the capacity of 4,000 addicted people have been launched in ten provinces.
Ameli reiterated that five million students will be trained for preventing and fighting social damages.
He noted that efforts will be made for promoting social knowledge in the country.
Ameli stressed the fact that younger generation should be aware of dangers in the society and warned against being affected by social networks for testing narcotics and illegitimate relations.
He stated that boosting knowledge in the society will foil enemies’ tricks and help the society be less exposed to damages.
Ameli emphasized presenting correct statistics with regard to social issues in the country.
Ameli said that Hossein Mohebi, Farhad Abol Nezhadian, Peyman Namdar and Mostafa Jahangir have been appointed as Chancellors of of Kerman Graduate University of Technology, Ahvaz Jundishapur University of Medical Sciences, Qazvin University of Medical Sciences and Varastegan Institute for Medical Sciences, respectively.
