Dr. Ameli referred to the figures of the report by the Comprehensive Scientific Map of the country and said: "This report indicates that the general physician is 12 physicians for every 10,000 people, and in Tehran this ratio is 35 and a half." In other cities with medical schools, the figure is 15. Also, in 50% of other cities in the country, the ratio of doctors to the population of ten thousand people is 3.8.
The professor of the University of Tehran, according to international standards, stated that the number of specialists is twice as much as a general practitioner and added: in the best case, the number of specialists is 4 and a half or 5 compared to 10 thousand people. In fact, in some medical fields in the cities, we have a severe shortage of specialist doctors. Of course, in a qualitative comparison, the quality of Iranian medicine is high and has the optimal capacity of Iranian medicine.
Dr. Ameli stated: "Today, Iran's population age pyramid shows that the ratio of the average population of old people in Iran is not high, but in the next 30 years, 20% of the population of Iran will be in old age.We are among the top countries in the world in terms of natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes,which also increase the need for a doctor.
The professor of the University of Tehran stated: In the first agenda of the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, the decision to increase the admission capacity of medical students was approved, which included a single article and a comment is provided in this single article.
According to this note, the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education was obliged to formulate the requirements and executive criteria for increasing the number of physicians with the approach of justice and territorial planning.

A great cultural revolution will take place. The professor of Tehran University considered one of the important points as the readiness of the medical community to increase the medical capacity and specified: In this meeting, strengthening the support of the medical community was emphasized by the esteemed members of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution. In this meeting, it was decided to perform a basic pathology in the field of treatment and medicine of the society, and based on this pathological report, appropriate and comprehensive ways will be proposed in the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution.
Dr. Ameli, in response to a journalist question about the budget bill of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, one of his problems is the budget for the implementation of resolutions. He stated: As Dr. Mirkazemi, the head of the Program and Budget Organization, stated, the increase of the doctors is approved by the Program and Budget Organization and credit will be provided.
In the end, he emphasized that, considering that the priority of the esteemed government is to provide and ensure the existence of necessary and effective infrastructure for the health and treatment of the people, it is a good opportunity to reduce the problems of the health network. In fact, the esteemed chairman of the Supreme Council announced that if there were infrastructural problems such as lack of beds, laboratories and other facilities, it would be provided by increasing the enrollment of more medical students.
