Congratulating the arrival of the 10-day Fajr Celebration and the anniversary of the glorious victory of the Islamic Revolution, the President said, "The Islamic Revolution of Iran has been a movement based on culture, religion, ethics and to perform religious and Islamic duties from the very beginning until today."
Speaking on Tuesday evening in the meeting of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution (SCCR), Dr Hassan Rouhani referred to the process of the victory of the Islamic Revolution from 16 years before the revolution and the beginning of the movement until 42 years after the victory of the Islamic Revolution, and said, "It is a cultural and religious movement that has distinguished the Islamic Revolution of Iran from other revolutions in the world".
Dr Rouhani stated that in all stages of the beginning of the Islamic Movement and the path taken until the victory of the revolution, the leadership of the movement was the responsibility of the late Imam Khomeini (RA), and the grand maraji and religious people were at the forefront of the fight for the victory of the revolution.
He said, "Religious events have always been the basis for accelerating the revolutionary movement of the people, and for this reason, our revolution is undoubtedly a cultural and religious revolution".
The President described one of the missions of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution to be the preservation of the cultural and religious spirit of the revolution and emphasised, "The preservation of a revolution that has been based on culture will also be possible through the cultural path".
Dr Rouhani stated, "The condition for the survival and continuation of the revolution is the strengthening and preservation of culture, and this revolution will continue as long as the same cultural spirit and strength of the past are preserved and strengthened".
The President pointed out, "We must be concerned about the wear and tear of the great cultural movement of the revolution in society and plan for it, and if they are not taken care of, we will face problems".
During the same meeting, the statute of the "National Organisation for the Education of Children" was approved.
Dr Mohammad Reza Mokhber Dezfuli and Dr Abdullah Jasbi were elected as representatives of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution in the Supervisory Board of the Azad University.
In addition, at the suggestion of the Minister of Science, Research and Technology, the President of the National Elite Foundation joined the members of the Strategic Council for the Exceptionally-Talented.
