The Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution approved the generalities of the plan to increase the number of students and specialists in the field of medicine and instructed the headquarters of the comprehensive scientific plan to coordinate with the Ministry of Health and Medical Education to review and announce the exact number of increase in medical students within 10 days.
At the meeting of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution on Tuesday evening, chaired by Ayatollah Dr Seyyed Ebrahim Raisi, after the speeches of the proponents and opponents of the single article of the plan to increase students and medical professionals, the generalities of the plan were approved by the members.
The members of the Supreme Council of Cultural Revolution agreed on the shortage of general practitioners and specialists as well as the unfair distribution of doctors in the country and stressed that according to the predictions about increasing the average age of the population and components such as high natural disasters in the country, society needs more doctors in the future.
