the Mahakumbh festival is one of the largest Hindu religious gatherings, held annually in "hot springs" regions. During this event, thousands of Hindus participate in prayers, rituals, and spiritual ceremonies. The festival is regarded as an opportunity for spiritual and physical purification through rituals conducted in rivers and sacred sites.
Hojjat al-Islam wal-Muslimin Khosrowpanah met with some Hindu leaders during the ceremony and remarked, "Participating in such events symbolizes respect for religious freedoms and the promotion of cultural exchanges. Festivals like Mahakumbh provide valuable opportunities to strengthen interfaith relations and foster global peace and harmonious coexistence."
Following the ceremony, he traveled to Sarnath, one of India’s most significant historical and religious sites. Sarnath is renowned as the place where Buddha delivered his first sermon after attaining enlightenment, making it a key center of Buddhism. The city attracts numerous pilgrims and tourists who visit its temples and historical landmarks.
