Members of the council took the decision on Tuesday, making the organization a subsidiary of the Ministry of Science from acting as a deputy office of the presidency.
Under the decision, the structure and mission of the organization will remain unchanged, and its chairperson will be chosen by the minister of science.
The National Organization of Educational Testing is a government body in charge of holding international tests such as IELTS and TOEFL, as well as national tests including university entrance exam known as Konkour in Iran, among other tasks.
The latest decision is part of the Pezeshkian’s government to promote the quality of education across the country.
