Dr. Ameli in the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution: Policies and criteria for organizing the assessment and admission of applicants for higher education were approved.


According to the news center of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, Dr. Saeed Reza Ameli, secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, on the sidelines of the 842nd session of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution told reporters: First of all, I congratulate Imam Reza (AS) birthday. At the beginning of the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, the members of the council congratulated the people on their victory in the 13th presidential election and the election of ebrahim raisi as president and  the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution will do whatever kind of cooperation is needed in this field.

Regarding the agenda of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution, the secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution said: "The agenda of this meeting was to organize the system for assessing and accepting of students at the undergraduate level, and important decisions were made in this meeting."

Dr. Ameli, by noting that the entrance exam has started in Iran since 1348, added: The decisions of this meeting are the most important decisions of the last 52 years in the field of entrance exams.
The secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution continued: The first decree was that, the share of educational background will be 60% and the share of the l entrance exam will be 40%. The second decision was that the entrance exam should be dedicated to specialized courses and the general courses will be dedicated  to the academic records section and the academic backgrounds will be the basis of the final evaluation. The third decision was to hold the entrance exam twice a year. Our students should not worry when they take this test that they will not have another chance until next year.
Professor of the Department of Communication, University of Tehran, explained: In this way, the entrance exam will be held twice. The fourth decision is that the results of the test in which students participate will be valid up to two years, and students can use the results up to two years.
Dr. Ameli stated: The fifth decree was about admission that the universities of the country can set a quorum for the grade point average and based on it, determine how much grade point average they accept and if the grade point average of the volunteer is lower than the specified level, this authority is given to the universities not to  accept volunteer.
The Secretary of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution continued: "With the approach that the anxiety of entrance exam candidates should be removed, especially in the most favorite fields, and that the assessment should be done in more depth and the person with qualitative  questions during the study period.
In the end, Dr. Ameli emphasized: The fact is that the student studies for 12 years and this 12 years of study must be reflected in his success in the university. With the  plan of 60% impact  of academic records and 40% of exams, it is possible to measure the depth of student learning.
Dr. Ameli said: "The Education Assessment Center has made it possible for standardized questions to be tested throughout the country, and we hope that this method will provide conditions for volunteers to enter the university more fairly, and courses that are not full of volunteers without exam apply for their destination universities. Currently, about 17% of university seats are filled without entrance exams, and about 13% of university capacity requires candidates to participate in two-stage entrance exams. This decree will be applied from 1402 and this decree will not be applied in the entrance exams of 1400 and 1401.
It should be noted that the review of other parts of the policies and criteria for organizing the assessment and admission of applicants for higher education will continue in the next session. In the end, he emphasized that the decision was made as a result of extensive expert work in the past two years, and the successful experience of the world and the great national challenges in the field of assessment and acceptance of candidates to enter the university have been considered. The plan to organize the assessment and admission of candidates to enter the university is the product of the agreement of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology, the Ministry of Health, Treatment and Medical Education and the Ministry of Education and the effective presence of experts and the head of the country's assessment and education organization.
