Ebrahimi Turkaman and Russian Ambassador to Tehran call for expansion of Tehran Moscow relations based on cultural agreements

In a meeting between the Head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization and Russian Ambassador to Tehran, both sides called for promotion of relations between Iran and Russia within the framework of cultural agreements.


the newly appointed Russian Ambassador to Tehran Mr. Levan Dzhagarian while visiting ICRO Headquarters in central Tehran, met Mr. Abuzar Ebrahimi Turkaman and issues related to expansion of cultural cooperation were discussed during their meeting.
The Head of Islamic Culture and Relations Organization talking about the history of relations and ties between Iran and Russia said the history of cultural relations between the two nations dates back to many years ago but at present such relations have improve and is moving forward in the path of interaction.
Mr. Turkaman talked about willingness of the Islamic Republic of Iran for further boosting of cultural relations with Russian Federation especially within the framework of a joint committee of cultural cooperation.
He also called for continuation of interreligious dialog between Islam and Orthodox Church of Russia and said in our opinion such dialog among Muslim and Orthodox Christian theologians and scholars have been very successful.
The Russian new Ambassador to Tehran for his part called for expansion of interreligious dialog and said such discourse is needed to reach common understanding and expressed his government readiness to expand its cultural relations with Islamic Republic of Iran.
Mr. Levan Dzhagarian, emphasized the importance of cultural commonality between the two nations and said we welcome holding interreligious dialogs and establishment of a joint committee for cultural cooperation.
